User Experience

WiseFax dubs itself as a simple yet powerful fax service. True to its claims, its interface makes faxing documents online as easy as uploading a document and following a series of basic steps, like entering a recipient’s fax number. You’ll be appropriately guided through each step, leaving no room for mistakes or confusion.

FaxCore is the same. Its user-friendly interface allows seamless navigation and easy access to features and functionalities. Unlike other fax services, FaxCore comes with web-based cloud access that works well on Microsoft SQL Server and Microsoft OS. The design of its interface is similar to Outlook Web Access, a bit dated compared to today’s modern interfaces, but still functional and intuitive.

HIPAA Compliance

WiseFax does not mention anything about HIPAA compliance. And though it claims to follow the best practices for maintaining security and user privacy, using it to handle protected health information (PHI) could put your organization at risk. There’s also no mention of whether this service will sign a Business Associate Agreement (BAA) with you being the covered entity.

WiseFax supports document signing, allowing you to sign and fill in documents before faxing them. Upon uploading the document, you’ll see an option for creating and inserting a signature. You can save up to three signatures and use them whenever you want. 

As for FaxCore, it doesn’t have eSignature capabilities. You will need to sign documents manually by printing and scanning. Another option would be to use this service’s API and integrate a system that inherently supports such functionality.

API and Developer Support

FaxCore can fax-enable any application with its REST API at no additional cost. Its advanced online fax server allows for easy setup and streamlined deployment. It instantly makes sending, receiving, and managing faxes through the FaxCore network possible through specific API calls. 

WiseFax, on the other hand, doesn’t support integrations through API. On the brighter side, it has add-ons that you can readily install on several apps, including Gmail, Google Drive, Office 365, and Firefox.

Still, you have the option to pay for a subscription. By paying $8 monthly, WiseFax will provide you with a fax number in Canada or the US, which you can use to receive up to 300 fax pages. You will also have 10 tokens for sending faxes. If purchased separately, the cost per token is $1, and that’s good for sending a single fax page.

Meanwhile, with FaxCore, the cost will depend on your specific needs and requirements. There’s no fixed subscription fee. You’ll have to request a quote to see how much you’ll need to pay to avail its service.
