CocoFax vs MyFax: Feature Review

CocoFax vs MyFax

Pricing and Plans

MyFax offers three pricing plans that scale with your faxing needs. When billed annually, the basic plan costs $10 monthly and is suitable for sending 100 fax pages. To fax 300 pages, you need their Small Business Plan at $20.83 per month. Power users can fax up to 600 pages for $37.50 per month.

CocoFax, on the other hand, has five pricing plans, beginning with Lite at $4.99 per month and good for 60 pages. Extra pages will cost $0.2. The next tier is a Basic at $9.99 per month for 200 fax pages. Its most popular plan is Premium, which will cost you $16.99 monthly for 400 pages.

If you’re a business user, CocoFax has a Business Plan at $24.99 per month when billed annually. It comes with 1200 pages and 5 team members. There’s also an Enterprise option with customized pricing for faxing pages in high volumes.

Are MyFax and CocoFax safe?

CocoFax is an all-in-one online faxing solution that takes security seriously. It implements world-class security protocols used by top-end IT companies. Every fax you send is encrypted with 256-bit AES. It also employs 2FA (two-factor authentication) and biometric security to validate logins and keep accounts safe from cybercriminals.

MyFax offers a convenient digital faxing solution with basic security protocols, such as end-to-end encryption, PGP encryption, and password-protected web pages.

What of compliance?

CocoFax offers HIPAA compliance to all its business users. They will sign a BAA (Business Associate Agreement), a primary criterion for compliance. They also take strict security and privacy measures to remain compliant. This includes access controls, biometric security, advanced encryption for data in transit and data at rest, and multiple layers of audit control and hardware-level security.

As a CocoFax alternative, MyFax isn’t HIPAA compliant. They don’t sign BAAs, and their security protocols, while secure enough, are not built to protect sensitive patient data.

Are there MyFax and CocoFax mobile fax apps?

Both CocoFax and MyFax support multiple platforms. They have free iOS and Android apps, enabling you to fax from a smartphone or tablet. They also have an intuitive web app where you can manage your account. Both faxing solutions also provide an email-to-fax option, which can turn any email client into a fax machine.

What integrations are available on both fax services?

As a MyFax alternative, CocoFax provides various integrations with go-to tools like Slack, G Suite, and Microsoft. There’s also a Chrome Extension and a dedicated desktop app for Windows. Its programmable API can also integrate with any existing system, like an EMR or EHR.

MyFax lacks these extra features and doesn’t have an API for integration with other tools.

MyFax or CocoFax for broadcasting a fax?

MyFax lets you send faxes to 50 recipients simultaneously. This helps you overcome the time-consuming challenge of traditional faxing to multiple people.

CocoFax also has fax broadcasting capabilities but only for Business and Enterprise plans. Also, it lets you schedule faxes in advance, freeing you from the hassle of faxing at inconvenient times. You can have the fax ready beforehand and let CocoFax deliver it on your specified date.

What about eSignatures?

Neither CocoFax nor MyFax has a built-in digital fax document signing capability. You either affix your signatures by hand or use a third-party electronic signature application.

Do CocoFax and MyFax let you monitor your fax status?

With MyFax, you can check the real-time delivery status of all sent faxes, including those that failed. You can view this on its web platform, where you can also see all incoming faxes.

CocoFax provides delivery reports for faxes. In higher plans, you can configure the service to send updates for any sent or received faxes through SMS. You can also get Slack notifications with their Slack integration. In case of failed faxes, you can automatically retry sending them.
