What are the available pricing and plans?

FaxCore provides enterprise-level fax solutions that cater to the unique needs of companies and businesses. Hence, you need to request a custom quote to determine the approximate cost of its services. There are no fixed pricing plans, as the prices will usually depend on several factors, such as the number of users, average monthly fax volumes, additional fax features, and more.

With mFax, it’s different. The service offers fixed and transparent pricing plans that can accommodate the unique needs of businesses of any size.

There are three main plans to choose from:

  • Professional: $25 for 400 pages
  • Business: $150 for 2,500 pages
  • Enterprise: $500 for 10,000 pages

For custom needs, you can reach out to their sales team for a quote.

Can healthcare providers use either FaxCore or mFax?

Faxcore offers advanced security features that comply with HIPAA rules and the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS).

mFax also incorporates HIPAA-compliant fax features such as 256-bit AES encryption, TLS 1.2 encryption, two-factor authentication, and access controls.

Both demonstrate the capability to comply with stringent HIPAA requirements, including providing a signed Business Associate Agreement (BAA).

How do they deploy their solutions?

FaxCore is a versatile fax server application that accommodates analog, digital, or FoIP (Fax over Internet Protocol). It can be deployed on-premise, partially cloud-based hybrid with the etherFax fax modem or the cloud. You can use traditional or digital phone lines, VoIP PBX, email, a multifunctional printer (MFP) connector, the Faxcore printer driver, or a web browser to send faxes.

Meanwhile, mFax is a cloud fax solution that provides ATAs for your physical fax machine. You can access mFax on your web browser, email, or mobile apps. You can also use a FaxBridge, an analog telephone adapter (ATA), to connect your traditional fax devices to the internet. You can ditch your analog phone lines with this feature. mFax also provides easy-to-download cloud connector apps for MFPs. This feature eliminates the need to use a FaxBridge.

Can mFax and FaxCore be used on mobile devices?

mFax includes iOS and Android apps in its service. These dedicated mobile apps turn your mobile phone into a fax machine, making sending and receiving faxes from anywhere possible and effortless.

FaxCore, the alternative to mFax, doesn’t include mobile apps. But you can still access your FaxCore account from a mobile web browser.

Can the digitally sign fax documents?

Neither mFax nor FaxCore includes digital signatures in its list of features. However, mFax’s parent company, Documo, provides a separate paid service called mSign for electronic document signing.

Do mFax and FaxCore have programmable APIs?

FaxCore provides a free REST API to integrate into your current applications or software. You can configure this fax API to work with your EHR system.

mFax also includes a REST API, but access is only available with the Business plan and above. The mFax API page mentions that the API is only free for 30 days.

Does mFax have free trial?

mFax offers a generous 14-day free trial for one user. The free trial includes one fax number, 100 fax pages, email to fax, fax to email, fax history, secure faxing, team management, reseller tools, SSO, and more. You only need to sign up for the trial on its website.

FaxCore doesn’t offer a free trial on its website. GetApp mentions that a free trial is available, but we only found a free demo, which you must request from sales.

How about fax number porting?

If you want to keep your current fax number, mFax or FaxCore can handle fax number porting. mFax number porting costs $15 per number and typically takes 7-10 business days. FaxCore also supports number porting but doesn’t mention the length of the process on its website.

Which should you choose? FaxCore or mFax?

FaxCore is best for enterprises that prefer fax servers with on-premise or hybrid deployments. You can use it with your platform and telco, or FaxCore can provide the platform you need. It’s also best for businesses requiring multiple fax ways minus the mobile apps.

Meanwhile, mFax also offers some flexibility, considering it provides an ATA and allows faxing using a mobile application. However, it is best for businesses that want to transition to a purely cloud-based solution and don’t want to deal with anything that has to do with fax machines and analog telephones.
