FaxCore vs Interfax: Feature Breakdown

FaxZero vs Interfax

Pricing and Plans

Interfax has two types of plans: a monthly subscription plan and a prepaid plan. The monthly subscription plan lets you enjoy different packages that scale with your needs. It starts with a $9.95 monthly plan that’s good for 100 inbound and 100 outbound pages. You can increase this to 250 inbound and 250 outbound pages for $22.95 per month or 500 inbound and 500 outbound pages for $42.95 monthly. There are no setup fees or long-term contracts, meaning you can cancel these plans anytime. You can also have them set up a custom package that’s tailored to your specific faxing needs.

Meanwhile, Interfax’s prepaid packages offer fax minus the monthly commitments. The lowest package costs $10 for 91 pages, while the highest package costs $250 for 3100 pages. These prepaid packages have no expiration, so they’re great for those who only fax occasionally.

As for FaxZero, it lets you send 5 faxes for free daily, but that means having its branding on the cover page. Plus, it limits the pages you can include per fax to three, cover pages included. To remove the FaxZero logo and send up to 25 pages per fax, you can pay $2.09 per fax. Paid faxes also get priority delivery.

FaxZero vs Interfax Security

Interfax boasts robust security, using TLS encryption for sent and received faxes. It uses private and public key signatures to authenticate faxes and offers a “Delete Fax After Completion” feature. It also complies with various data privacy standards, including HIPAA, PHIPA, and PCI DSS. You can also request audit trails and a signed BAA (Business Associate Agreement).

FaxZero uses HTTPS and SSL or TLS to encrypt file uploads and fax documents from its platform. However, as an alternative to Interfax, it doesn’t have extra security features that will make it HIPAA compliant. Further, it doesn’t sign BAAs, use access controls, or provide audit trails.

Both feature easy-to-use interfaces.

FaxZero offers a straightforward way to send a fax. You open its website, complete the sender and receiver information, upload any attachments, and compose your faxed message. After typing the confirmation code, you can send the fax for free or opt for a paid fax with no FaxZero branding. The fax service will then send email notifications to keep you in the loop. It’s how you will know whether your faxes were successfully delivered.

As a FaxZero alternative, Interfax offers a more comprehensive cloud faxing experience. You’ll sign up for an account that gives you access to various device applications for sending and receiving faxes. You get a sleek user interface to view and manage received and sent faxes and manage your account.

FaxZero lacks dedicated apps for devices.

Interfax lets you turn any device into a virtual fax machine. Its web application works on major browsers like Chrome and Firefox, as well as their mobile counterparts. Because of its comprehensive API support, you can integrate its enterprise-grade fax with EHR and EMR systems. Interfax’s email-to-fax also allows faxing from any email client, offering added convenience.

FaxZero does not have dedicated fax apps that work on devices running Android, iOS, Windows, or Mac systems. Although it does not require logging in to an account, loading its web app whenever you need to send a fax can be cumbersome.

Unlike Interfax, FaxZero does not support fax broadcasting.

Interfax boasts enterprise-level capabilities, such as fax broadcasting to an audience of up to 20,000 recipients. You can also count on this service to deliver bulk faxes over enterprise networks of any size.

FaxZero, on the other hand, lacks fax broadcasting options. You can only manually send a fax to a single recipient.

Only Interfax provides fax numbers and allows porting.

Interfax’s monthly subscription plans include a local fax number. With a customized plan, you can also get a toll-free number. If you have an existing fax number, you can port it for a one-time $20 fee. It takes 1-4 weeks after submitting a form to their support team.

FaxZero can only send faxes, not receive them. You cannot use this service to set up a local or toll-free number, much less port an existing fax number.

Comparing InterFax and FaxZero

If you’re faxing documents containing protected health information, you need HIPAA-compliant faxing solutions like Interfax. FaxZero isn’t safe for transmitting faxes with personally identifiable information and other sensitive data. It lacks the necessary safeguards to mitigate the risk of breaches.

Interfax has multiple extra features that improve the faxing experience. However, if you’re only sending a generic and quick fax, FaxZero offers a convenient solution. Just be aware of its limitations and use it with caution.
