IRS Fax Numbers: Where You Can Send Your Tax Forms

For many people, filing tax forms can be tedious and time-consuming. It’s easy to feel overwhelmed by the paperwork, the deadlines, and the fear of making mistakes. Although the process may be challenging, choosing a suitable filing method can make it more manageable and less stressful.

Faxing your tax forms is not only simpler and faster than mailing them in paper form, but it can also provide a sense of security and confirmation. You just need a reliable online fax service and the correct IRS fax number to avoid delays and loss of forms.

IRS Fax Number

Filing tax forms by fax can be a fast, secure, and convenient option for those who need to meet tax deadlines, have an urgent matter to resolve with the IRS, or want to do away with manual, paper-based processes. The only caveat of this method is that finding the right IRS fax number for your tax forms can be quite challenging.

To help make your tax filing process easier, we have created a list of IRS fax numbers for common tax forms and departments.

IRS Form 8886 is used by individuals, partnerships, trusts, S corporations, and the like to report transactions that may have a potential for tax avoidance or evasion. It is also called Reportable Transaction Disclosure Statement.

The IRS requires covered entities to file this form in order to gather data that can help the organization identify transactions that may not comply with tax laws and regulations. Form 4868

IRS Form 4868 is the Application for Extension of Time to File. The primary purpose of this form is to allow taxpayers to file their federal tax returns beyond the original due date. The extension provides an additional six months to file, so instead of filing their taxes on April 15th, they can do it until October 15th.

Form 4868 must be filed by the original due date of the tax return, and it is important to note that an extension to file is not an extension to pay any taxes owed.

Form 8962

Form 8962 is an IRS tax form used by individuals or families who have purchased health insurance through the Health Insurance Marketplace under the Affordable Care Act (ACA). It is used to calculate and claim the Premium Tax Credit (PTC), a tax subsidy that helps lower the cost of health insurance premiums for eligible taxpayers.

To file this form, you must have specific information available, including:

  • Your Health Insurance Marketplace Form 1095-A, which shows the amount of advance payments of the Premium Tax Credit you received and other information about your coverage.
  • Your income information for the year, including your adjusted gross income and the income of other members of your household who are included on your tax return.

You can choose a few options to file your Form 8962: using an e-file provider or through the mail. You can also find an IRS fax number to file this form.

The EIN is also used by banks, credit card companies, and other financial institutions to identify a business for banking and credit purposes.

Form SS-4 can be filed online, by mail, by fax, or by phone, depending on the needs and preferences of the applicant.
