What’s New With iFax Web 7.22?
Smart Documents for Streamlining Fax Routines
iFax’s faxing workflows got smarter and more efficient with “Smart Documents, ” eliminating the most common faxing hassles. This new functionality, accessible via Settings > Preferences, lets you:
- Reuse common forms such as intake forms, referrals, prior authorization, and release forms
- Pre-fill patient info like name, DOB, and MRN
- Speed up faxing by skipping re-uploading every time
- Ensure accuracy with required field rules
- Add compliant signatures and time-stamped documents
Faxing online using reusable forms removes the need to re-upload the same documents each time. Pre-filled forms help ensure critical info is never missed, improving accuracy and data consistency.
Auto-Generated Email Addresses for Fax Numbers
One significant upgrade included in this release is improving how faxes are received by email for each fax number. iFax Web 7.22 has replaced the old Receive by Email feature with auto-generated email addresses for all purchased and ported fax numbers.
How it works:
- Every fax number is now assigned a dedicated email address, which is <faxnumber>@ifaxapp.com (example: 12096380085@ifaxapp.com)
- For teams with custom email domains, the auto-generated email address will use the custom domain (example: 12096380085@yourcompany.com)
- Users can email document attachments (PDF, TIFF, DOCX, etc.) as a fax to these addresses. iFax will automatically convert the email into a fax-friendly format and send it to the associated number.
- Fax pages received via email will count toward the recipient’s fax page limit.
Two-Way Contact Sync With HubSpot & Salesforce
This new feature allows bi-directional syncing of contacts between iFax and CRM systems like HubSpot and Salesforce, keeping contact records updated across platforms.
With two-way contact sync, matching is done primarily via the email field. Duplicates are automatically excluded from the sync process. Seamlessly import and sync HubSpot and Salesforce contacts with iFax. Instead of retyping contact details, this new iFax Web 7.22 feature lets you centralize communication while avoiding critical errors caused by manual output.
All iFax Basic, Plus, and Pro plans (monthly and yearly) include access to the newly released two-way contact sync feature. Only contacts with valid email addresses can sync between platforms. Contacts missing email addresses won’t get synced.
New Automation: Send to EHR
As iFax continues to include significant automation enhancements, 7.22’s release adds a new “Send to EHR” option for automation rules under the Automations tab.
Choosing this option automatically sends inbound faxes to the appropriate patient profile in the EHR, saving time, reducing errors, and streamlining clinical workflows.
- Note that this option works only when Auto NLP & OCR is enabled or when documents are converted manually.
- iFax scans the fax for patient details and matches them with EHR records.
- Upon identifying a match, the fax gets routed automatically to the correct patient profile.
- The “Send to EHR” automation applies to inbound faxes only.
New Integration: Deep Cura
Every iFax release brings core updates that streamline faxing in an integrated setting. This time, clinicians and healthcare organizations can finally use iFax to send and receive faxes via Deep Cura, a clinical AI platform.
Deep Cura integration is the latest addition to iFax’s growing list of supported medical and EHR software, along with its existing integrations with Epic and Elation Health.

Expanded Fax Download Options
Fax downloads are crucial for several reasons, such as keeping records of faxes received and delivered for compliance and legal or archival purposes.
iFax Web 7.22 has made some notable enhancements. Users can now download faxes and choose from different fax formats, including:
- JPG
- TIFF
- TXT (requires OCR)
- JSON (requires OCR)
How it works:
From the Dashboard, select a fax to download and hover over the download option. Choose the fax format you want, then store or send it as needed.
Note that a ZIP file will be generated automatically when downloading a fax file as JPG or TIFF. Each fax page will be included as a separate image inside the ZIP, making reviewing or sharing individual pages easier.
